abstract = "Brazil has cataloged more than 40,000 species of flora, and 30% of
these species are located in the Cerrado biome. The Cerrado biome
has only 8.6% of its area protected by Conservation Units (UC),
and only 3.1% are Integral Protection (IP). Thus, the objective of
this analysis is to evaluate the spatial-temporal dynamics of
deforestation of the natural vegetation, by means of SIAD Cerrado
and Global Forest Change (GFC) mappings, as well as to evaluate
the accuracy of the global data for the savanna environment, which
has the seasonality very marked in its seasons. The analysis of
spatial-temporal dynamics of deforestation based on the SIAD and
GFC mappings in the Cerrado was done between 2002 and 2014, while
to evaluate the spatial accuracy of the GFC data, 5 random Landsat
8 scenes were selected from 121 scenes, for the year of 2014,
scenes 219/72 (MG), 220/64 (MA), 220/66 (PI), 222/68 (TO) and
226/69 (MT), for which 633 polygons were inspected. SIAD, between
2002 and 2014, mapped 3.3 Mha of deforestation more than GFC,
6,415,550 ha and 3,263,824 ha, respectively. Although the SIAD
Cerrado has mapped 196% more deforested areas than the GFC, the
correlation between the data is high, that is, 87%. The spatial
evaluation of GFC data for the Cerrado had an average accuracy of
60%, once 67% and 32% of the positive deforestation, identified by
the GFC, occurred on savanna and forest formations,
                         respectively.",
